About me
Dr. Laura DeLima has spent the last 15 years moving innovative secondary schools from ideation to implementation. She's kept busy (re)creating mission statements and developing theories of action that meld idealism and pragmatism and then developing all the types of student and staff programming needed to operationalize the school's mission. From evidence-based competency-based assessment design to staff evaluation systems to negotiating real estate and leading teens in setting up Ikea furniture, she has yet to meet a school development, growth or management challenge that she hasn't given her all!
Passionate about social-emotional education and experiential education, she believes fiercely that both should be the heart of every child's educational experience. A veteran school and network level leader, she excels at creating positive team culture and space for staff to grow into empowered leaders. She is eager to support organizations to develop the programming and the staff capacity to bring integrated and easy-to-implement social-emotional and experiential learning to their educational organizations.
Currently located in Washington, DC, and planning to relocate to Toronto, Canada, in the coming year, she would especially love to connect with attendees from Canada!
