About me
Megan Reed is the Executive Director of Strategy and Operations in the Office of College, Career and Life Readiness in Boston Public Schools. In this capacity, she facilitates the teams’ execution of their strategic plan by fostering purposeful collaboration within and between teams internal and external to BPS and by supporting the design and implementation of major team and district initiatives. Central to the work is ensuring that the critical work of the Office of College, Career and Life Readiness translates to increased opportunities for schools and students. Previously, Megan served as the Deputy Chief Human Capital Officer overseeing the district’s Human Resources functions for its 10,000 employees and prior served as the Managing Director for Leadership Development where she oversaw the hiring and professional development of the district’s school leaders. Before joining the team at BPS, Megan provided executive leadership coaching to K-12 public, charter and parochial school leaders while working with the Achievement Network and was a middle school principal in Boston and early college high school principal in Oakland CA. She started her career and will always ground in her experience as a middle grades and elementary teacher in Oakland. She earned her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from San Jose State University and her BA in American Studies from Yale University.
